DEAR NSYMCA MEMBER AND SUPPORTER,
The Y is always working to keep the community together, engaged and healthy and now when many other facilities and agencies have closed, we are still working to keep our community connected. We have amassed an amazing collection of:
· Fitness , Cardio & Strength for all levels, Yoga, Cycle, Art, SmartLab, Dance
Community Efforts
· collecting donated electronics for seniors to be able to connect virtually & sending pictures/letters to senior homes; · Encouraging notes in Sunset Food bags, & · working to hold a blood drive for the Red Cross, and so much more
In addition, we are connecting with our vulnerable populations. There are activities for every age and we continue to provide many of them for free to the entire community because that is the Y’s mission.
However, with the reduced income stream and fundraising dollars, many day to day programs which rely on charitable support (special needs, Special Olympics, chronic health, senior wellness, adult education and child watch) as well as financial assistance scholarships and charitable services (like transportation for seniors and special needs individuals) will be at risk when we return.
If you are in a position to help, we need your support now to help us come back providing the same level of charitable services as we did before. As a non-profit, the sudden loss of program revenue, membership cancellations, and postponement of our Strong Kids Fundraiser and Healthy Kids Day events, will make it much harder for us to provide the level of scholarships and charitable services those in need have come to expect from the Y, because of the heavy crush on our budget.
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Please support our Stay with the Y effort if you are able!!! With all of us pulling together we can emerge stronger than ever and continue to provide all the charitable services the Y is known for.
Should you choose to continue to pay your membership dues or make an additional contribution to Stay with the Y , please know that your gift will support the revival of the NSYMCA programs and scholarships when we reopen. Thank You!!
